Blogathon 2007, my very first ‘thon!

Blogathon is a charity event for bloggers… The bloggers chose a charity to support, we get some sponsors, and then during the event we blog every thirty minutes for 24 hours straight!

Saturday, 28 July 2007 is the day, starting at 6am Pacific time, and I’m blogging for Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary! They are the coolest, they rescue farmed animals and promote the vegan lifestyle.

About me

I’m Cheri in the real world but I go by rift when I am online. I’m female, mid-30s, live in Oregon USA with my Significant Other (SO) and my friend the guinea pig.

I’ve been vegan for almost 4 years and was vegetarian for 10 years before that. My path has been leading me towards the animal liberation philosophy and within the past couple of months I’ve made the switch from “new welfarist” to “abolitionist”.

I am passionate about animals and nature, reading, journaling, and pretending to do art.

I’ve owned the LeafShadows.com domain since May 2003. I never did anything with it, but decided it would be perfect for Blogathon!

I’m not familiar with the software I’m using, WordPress. So I might have to complain randomly about that! Hopefully, I’ll get a handle on it.
